My collection focuses on form, fabric and workmanship to create garments that are simplistic, yet also have a powerful, contemporary edge. Influenced by the geometric, structured shapes found in tents and boat sails and their emphasis on durability and function. I have explored the largely untapped potential of sustainability within the context of high fashion by reutilising materials from tents, giving an added depth to each up-cycled garment. The ‘Till death do us part’ concept encourages consumers to give their clothes the kind of life-long commitment they deserve. Inspired by the idea of loving our clothes for life and wearing them so often that they fall apart, this concept explores the deconstruction and reconstruction of ones ‘favourite leather jacket’. Promoting slow and conscious fashion that can be passed down from generation to generation, becoming more valuable with each wear.
