Primitive, unisex sterling silver (925) ring, part of my Extreme Collection. This organic twisted design ring was made using modeling wax and then cast in sterling silver. Patina was added for a dramatic effect. It was inspired by the cyclical nature of existence. The band is about 4.00 mm thick and 5.50 mm broad, with an internal diameter of 20.00 mm (US size 10 1/2, Metric Size 62.80). The outside surface is raw and smooth, while the inside has a subtle unique, organic texture. It looks great worn as a ring, but also as a pendant. Made with love and lots care in my studio. Only one piece, one size available.
This handcrafted ring with molten metal drops effect began its life as a sculptor's dream, meticulously carved in wax before being brought to life through the ancient lost-wax casting technique. Each step, from the initial design to the final polish and patina, was done by hand, each granule has been hand dropped in wax, one by one. After casting, it went through a whole process of hand cleaning and polishing, refining each detail and giving it a high shine finish. Patina was added to enhance the granulated design. The ring is part of a two-piece set, a mini-series, which was designed and built for a local exhibition in Maastricht, the Netherlands.
