Careers to choose if you have ADHD
NHS data suggests that around 3-4% of UK adults may have ADHD, although diagnosis rates are lower than this. Furthermore, due to greater awareness and improved access to health services, diagnoses are increasing. Perfectionism, Rejection Sensitivity and Impulsivity are just some symptoms that don’t make sticking to the same job easy. So, are there such things as jobs for people with ADHD?
Jobs for People with ADHD
NHS data suggests that around 3-4% of UK adults may have ADHD, although diagnosis rates are lower than this. Due to greater awareness and improved access to health services, diagnoses are increasing. However, there are still long waiting lists across the UK, even within private diagnostic services. Historically, ADHD was more commonly diagnosed in children, but the demand for adult assessments has surged in recent years.

Easter Holidays 2023 | Delight or Duty | How Felicity Finds
This post took super long to write as I was trying to do not only whilst being ‘in the thick of it’ myself, but also because I was also working through a lot of my feelings about it all. I began to overthink, I rewrote several times, I got imposter syndrome and am still sure someone will tell me I’m talking b***ocks. But you know what, that’s okay, as @hatchedadhd said, let’s just do the s**t version of something we’ve been trying to get done. At least it gets it done and generally it isn’t that s**t really! Anyway the link is in my bio 👉🏻about how I find at the moment holidays with an ND kid are a little more about duty than delight, surviving than enjoying! Would love to know how you guys feel?! https://howfelicityfinds.co.uk/easter-holidays-2023

I didn’t think a year after writing this blog post, that I’d feel the need to re-post it 😞 But I’m really wondering if anything has moved on since then.

What is ADHD? - https://howfelicityfinds.co.uk/women-and-adhd-not-a-naughty-boy-disorder

Imagine my shock to turn on the TV this morning to see Dr. Ranj on BBC Morning Live discussing the difficulty in getting an ADHD diagnosis. He explained correctly that symptoms shouldn’t just be ‘sometimes’ or ‘occasionally’, but that they should effect your everyday ability to function, that diagnosis (especially in adults) is not a quick process and that symptoms should have been present since childhood.

What really worried me was that he then went on to list the symptoms to consider:

.
 • Lack of Focus/Concentration
 • Hyperactivity
 • Impu
