Making Time - Easter Chick Pom-Pom Making
Have fun making these chicken pom-poms for Easter.
You will need wool, card, scissors, felt-tip pens or colouring pencils, glue, a cup, a £1 pound coin.
Step 1.
Cut two circles (about 6 cm across) as pictured. We drew around a cup to make the outside circle and around the £1 pound coin to make the inner circle.
Step 2.
Place the two cards together so you have one circle. Wind wool evenly around the card. Do this until no card shows and the wool feels thick. If you run out of wool, cut another long piece and continue.
Step 3.
Using scissors cut round the edge at the outer edge of the card.
Step 4.
Gently pull the two circles apart on one side and place a long piece of wool in the centre. Wrap it all the way around, pull tightly and double knot.
Step 5.
Repeat this again to make sure the wool is well secured.
Step 6.
Gently pull the card circles off the wool one at a time. You can reuse the card circles for other projects.
Step 7.
Fluff wool into a ball and cut off any longer bits. Cut and colour in left over cardboard to make the eyes, beak and feet. Then glue them into place on the pom pom.
Chirp chirp!!
We hope you have fun making these little chickens.
