Celebrate the Festival of Lights by making a wonderful Diwali decoration.
Celebrate the Festival of Lights by making a wonderful paper decoration in our Mke! tutorial.
Step 8.
Choose a special place to display your decoration. Happy Diwali everyone!
You will need:
• Cereal box card or a paper plate • A plate to draw around (or a large circle shape) • Junk mail, packaging card and or scraps of tissue paper • Tissue paper • Kitchen foil or shiny paper scraps • Scissors • Pencil • Pritt stick glue
Step 1.
Draw around the plate onto the cereal box card.
Step 2.
Cut out the cardboard circle. You can use a paper plate if you don’t have cardboard.
Step 3.
Glue the large piece of tissue paper onto the cardboard circle and trim around the edge. You can paint or colour the circle shape if you don’t have tissue paper.
Step 4.
Fold the circle in half and draw a semi-circle shape in the middle of the fold.
Step 5.
Cut out the semi-circle.
Step 6.
Cut a long rectangle from the packaging card. This will be the candle. Cut a flame shape from yellow, orange or red scrap card.
Step 7.
Glue the bottom of the candle to the inside of the card circle and stick shiny shapes on the sides to decorate. Cut some fringes from tissue paper, and glue them around the edge of the semi-circular hole.
