Crossrail rolling stock and depot contract is to be awarded to Derby based Bombardier. The contract means 65 new trains will be built in Derby, with over 1,000 jobs and around 100 apprenticeships supported in the UK.
Laing O’Rourke to deliver Willesden depot upgrade. Transport for London (TfL) has awarded Laing O’Rourke a £22 million contract to modify Willesden depot and provide additional sidings at Wembley to accomodate London Overground’s new five-car trains. Laing O’Rourke said the project would require it to provide a “broad package of track, overhead line and third rail electrification, depot M&E and signaling upgrades”.
