Crazypatch background, appliqué, free-motion, couching.For a short time, many years ago, I lived by a seaside lagoon. These poppies were growing nearby and I fell in love with the glaucous leaves. I decided to make the entire background the colour of the leaves. The flowers float in an abstract sea of foliage.

SEW & QUILT-IN-0NE PLACEMATS
FLIP & SEW METHOD (straight strips): Layer backing + batting + 1st strip RS up + 2nd strip RS down. Sew 1st seam, then flip 2nd strip over RS up. No extra quilting needed if strip is narrow. Continue adding strips and flipping them over.
