In 1900 my great aunt and uncle, Hilda Victoria and Frederick Bevan, died as infants while living at 68 Empress Road, Liverpool, England. Many of the houses on this street are now rented to students from nearby Liverpool University.
The birth certificate of my grandfather Arthur Andrew Stanley (1892-1969) lists 13 Heber Street, Liverpool, England, as the family residence. The street no longer exists but this photo from the Liverpool Record Office shows how it appeared in the 1960s.
Census records show that my great great grandfather John Stanley (1820-1879) was living on Greek Street in Liverpool, England, in 1861 and 1871. His son David Stanley (1854-1912) was there in 1877. No buildings from that time remain on Greek Street.
