The evening had a fitting tribute to Julia Brooking, who was an inspirational chief nursing adviser and senior lecturer in psychiatric nursing at the Maudsley hospital and the Institute of Psychiatry, Professor in nursing and head of department of nursing studies at Birmingham University and director of research at Southampton University. She was also a class act. Julia’s daughter, Caroline accepted an award in her honour.
