Red Clydeside: Mary Barbour (1875-1958) [article] / Michael Byers, 2002

Rosa Luxemburg (1871–1919) was a Marxist theorist, philosopher, economist and revolutionary socialist. She was successively a (founding) member of the Social Democracy of the Kingdom of Poland and Lithuania (SDKPiL), the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), the Independent Social Democratic Party (USPD), and the Communist Party of Germany (KPD). One of the leading revolutionary pacifists and anti-militarist, she was slain by reactionary para-military forces.
