Childless & Childfree Women Role Models
CREATED BY JODY DAY of GATEWAY WOMEN: www.gateway-women.com
Nomos (not-mothers) - both childless/childfree are invisible in popular culture; missing from TV, films, radio, novels and women's magazines - apart from distorted and outdated stereotypes like 'career woman', 'bitter spinster', etc. Yet we are, and always have been, a diverse and extraordinary bunch of women. #nomorolemodel #LGBTQIA+ #WoC #childless #CNBC #childfree #infertility #SocialInfertility #Herstory #feminism

The dancer aged 106 who bans the word 'old'
At 106, dancer, Eileen Kramer seems more productive than ever. After decades living abroad, Ms Kramer returned to her home city of Sydney aged 99. Since then, she's collaborated with artists to create several videos that showcase her primary talent and lifelong passion: dancing. Born in Sydney's Mosman Bay, Ms Kramer trained as a dancer then toured Australia with the Bodenwieser Ballet for a decade. She travelled to India, and later settled in Paris and then New York - where she lived until she was 99. "Having been in the company of dancers most of my life, I haven't felt alone," she says. "Unlike me, some married and had children or returned to Europe. I put up with the inconveniences of the dancer's life."
Ethel

Ethel Haythornthwaite is virtually unknown, even in her home town of Sheffield – the UK’s outdoor city – yet her tireless campaigning led to the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 and the creation of the Peak District National Park, protecting a wild and varied landscape so many have fallen in love with. In "Ethel", award-winning author Helen Mort explores the life of this countryside revolutionary.
