His films included Lawrence of Arabia (1962), Doctor Zhivago (1965) & Funny Girl (1968), has died aged 83. He was nominated for an Academy Award. He won three Golden Globe Awards and a César Award. Earlier this year, his agent confirmed he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. He added: "He suffered a heart attack this afternoon in a hospital in Cairo."
