Yellow Bear - Comanche (1842 - 1887) - father-in-law and friend of Quanah Parker. The two traveled together to Fort Worth on cattle business. Yellow Bear retired early to their hotel room where, unaccustomed to modern conveniences, blew out the flame of the gas light in his room. Later, when Quanah returned to the room, he noticed the smell but did nothing about it. Both were unconscious the next morning. Quanah revived; unfortunately Yellow Bear did not.
