Little Winter Wren how sweet you are. Photography by Long Pond Studio. (KO) Fall and Winter are coming! Please buy inexpensive birdseed and put it out soon. Put itin an accessible spot, safe from cats and other predictors, and keep it full for the birds. They go hungry often due to snow, ice, other wildlife and cold. Thank you! Be kind to out feathered buddies. :)

My neighbor has a gourd bird house hanging from her oak tree. Wrens are nesting there and sometimes they visit me.

Little Wren, Third smallest bird in the uk, but probably one of the loudest. Wonderful.

Wren. The wren is a tiny brown bird, although it is heavier, less slim, than the even smaller goldcrest. It is dumpy, almost rounded, with a fine bill, quite long legs and toes, very short round wings and a short, narrow tail which is sometimes cocked up vertically. For such a small bird it has a remarkably loud voice. It is the commonest UK breeding bird, although it suffers declines during prolonged, severely cold winters.

A Wren flew into my house today, I am reminded of Celt bird lore...a Wren is an embodiment of the divine feminine, but was oddly known as the 'king' of birds due to her immense singing voice. Due to this, she was beloved by Bards and thought to inspire joy, light heartedness, and creativity in all it's forms...message received and understood!!

Wren 17.3.12 Walking in Harden woods (near Bingley) with parents, it was hopping in the trees and then flew out and right into us, it had a right shock. very sweet!
