Unschooling thoughts from a wise guy. I like the idea of semi structured yet developmentally (as in, per child) focused learning. Yet I do think Montessori is super appropriate for infancy through age two. Beyond that point, I think things need to flow with the child's interests, in combination with constant, varied exposure to learning opportunities.
