This style home with the grand entrance hallways and the stairs being one of the first visual points just cry out for a carpet stair runner just like this one. I love the strips, and the colours are gorgeous especially against the pale walls and on the real stained wood floor. I also love how the photo gallery runs up the stairs, all of this just makes you want to explore further. Although if it was me I would have maybe thrown in a few coloured frames too.
Dulux Tranquil Retreat 100%. Should have been half strength. Trims are Dulux Vivid White which is a beautiful crisp stark white with no hint of any other colour. Ceiling and cornices were M's standard, Lexicon Quarter
Soft Satin, such as Hare by Crown Paint, is an elegant, delicate hue that brings subtle sophistication to a scheme. It’s a pale shade that has a warm tone, so is great for small rooms that need a hint of colour without overpowering the space. It’s cosy for winter but also bright and optimistic, perfect for a revamp in Spring. Match walls in this shade with a toning off-white for woodwork and pick out architecture, such as a wooden fire surround or door, in a toning shade of grey.
Monochrome chic. Simple is best in a narrow hallway. White painted stairs make them appear wider and the grey runner is both practical and elegant. Seek out a slim console - vintage or modern - thats useful and decorative but not space-consuming.
