Using 13 Color by Multiplication Facts is a great way to reinforce the learning with a different twist. This package includes a page for each times table from 2 to 12, and two pages of mixed practice. Use them in a center, with a tutor, individual practice, or on Grandparents’ Day (Special Friends Day). You may make a packet for summer practice. Hand them out on those last days when the bulletin boards are coming down so students can take all their work home.
DIY sundial for when we are teaching Ancient Egypt. Ancient Egyptians created sundials to tell time. Place a pencil upright in a ball of clay. Have a student go out every hour to place a stone where the end of the pencil is. Stones can be numbered to show what the hour is. At the end of the day look at the sundial your class has created.
This is a project that I go back to again and again. It’s just a simple tote bag tutorial. I find them practical for just about any reason, and since I rarely have time to fancy it up and try out new looks (read: making it as part of a gift the night before or sometimes the day of), I keep it as simple as possible and allow the fabric to be the star of the show.
