Graffiti artist Banksy pulls off most audacious stunt to date - despite being watched by CCTV
Banksy pulled off an audacious stunt to produce what is believed to be his biggest work yet in central London. The secretive graffiti artist managed to erect three storeys of scaffolding behind a security fence despite being watched by a CCTV camera. (Banksy, 2008)
I chose this pin because it is a good representation of what the media portrays as "beautiful." It relates to this course because we discussed body image and how the media scrutinizes women because they do not fit a certain standard. Related readings include Courtney E. The Tulsa Riot of 1921 This is the worst riot in american history. 15,000 African Americans were left homeless, between 300 and 3000 were killed, wounded and/or missing, 1500 homes were burned to the ground and over 600 Black owned businesses in a 35 square block area were bombed in the all Black Greenwood District of Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was the first american city to be bombed by airplanes. More people died this day than in any single event since the civil war.
