Women had to fight for their rights to vote and even to be classified as 'persons' In 1916 Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta gave women the provincial vote, later in 1917 Ontario and BC followed. Today my country voted to leave the EU - a vote to become more right wing & insular, based no doubt on making us "great" again. Be careful what you wish for in the US election...if great means divisive it's a sad day for all of us

Emmeline Pankhurst (born Goulden; 15 July 1858 – 14 June 1928) was a British political activist and leader of the British suffragette movement who helped women win the right to vote. In 1999 Time named Pankhurst as one of the 100 Most Important People of the 20th Century, stating: "she shaped an idea of women for our time; she shook society into a new pattern from which there could be no going back."

It's tough these days to convince people who think their votes don't count of how vital it is for them to vote in this election. If you know anybody who's expressed that feeling to you, please try to convince them that without everybody's vote, we could lose this important election.
