Distillation is a process of separating component substances from liquid mixtures through vaporisation and condensation, based on different volatility (vaporization point) of components in the mixture. Distillation is a unit operation, or a physical separation process, and not a chemical reaction. #GlogsterEDU #Distillation #Chemistry
Farnesol is present in many essential oils such as citronella, neroli, cyclamen, lemon grass, tuberose, rose, musk, balsam and tolu. It is used in perfumery to emphasize the odors of sweet floral perfumes. Its method of action for enhancing perfume scent is as a co-solvent that regulates the volatility of the odorants. It is especially used in lilac perfumes.
Great review!! "A praiseworthy debut novel. Nelson brings Cain to life warts and all. We see his frustrations and fallability along side our hero's need to set things right.Throw some romantic chemistry in for volatility and you have a recipe for a fun, fast paced read. Once I started, I couldn't to put it down, I hope Nelson follows with a sequel. I for one would like to see more Cain and Katy"
Tincture - A tincture is typically an alcoholic extract of plant or animal material or solution of such or of a low volatility substance (such as iodine and mercurochrome). To qualify as an alcoholic tincture, the extract should have an ethanol percentage of at least 25–60% (50–120 US proof)
According to the modern coordination compounds theory, all organic and inorganic compounds can be used as ligands, which is a departure from the traditional scope of differentiation. The principles of inorganic chemistry also state that the number of valence electrons determines the structure and volatility of metals, including that of the main group chemical compounds.
