The future guided-missile destroyer USS Zumwalt (DDG 1000) transits the Atlantic Ocean to conduct acceptance trials with the Navy's Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV).


The future guided-missile destroyer USS Zumwalt (DDG 1000) returned from Atlantic Ocean on Thursday after completing its second round of sea trials off the coast of Maine. These photos, taken by Dave Cleaveland from, show the destroyer’s arrival at the mouth of the Kennebec River near Portland. The ship departed for builder’s trials from Bath Iron Works shipyard in Bath, Maine, located just up the Kennebec, on Monday.
