Back home where I grew up in Turners Falls, MA, we had cherry blossom trees along Avenue A. They are so lovely to see, and when the trees begin to shed the flowers we have little flurries of petals just like this.
The Tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa) is a perennial plant related to the agaves, extracts of which are used as a middle note in perfumery. The tuberose is a night-blooming plant, with fragrant waxy white flowers, and is thought to be native to Mexico along with every other species of Polianthes. In Mexican Spanish the flower is called Nardo or Vara de San José. - Flickr - Photo Sharing!
