Why You Should Add Trondheim to Your Norway Itinerary

Trondheim, Norway, is of course historic, Trondheim was the ACTUAL capital of Norway. The city was founded by the Vikings in 997 (yes, that’s right kids, this city celebrated its THOUSAND YEAR anniversary in 1997), and served as the capital of Viking Norway up until 1217.

Nidaros Cathedral, Trondheim: the rose window... my ancestors built this church. It is the state church and coronation church of Norway. I've spent hundreds of hours sitting quietly in this beautiful cathedral <3

Norway is the most northerly and westerly of the 3 Scandinavian countries. The most popular urban tourist destinations include Oslo – the capital, Alesund, Bergen, Stavanger and Trondheim. NORWAY: Cute little coffee house in Trondheim. And only in Norway would they use the outdoor seating in the wintertime with snow on the ground ;-)
