Trondheim, Norway, is of course historic, Trondheim was the ACTUAL capital of Norway. The city was founded by the Vikings in 997 (yes, that’s right kids, this city celebrated its THOUSAND YEAR anniversary in 1997), and served as the capital of Viking Norway up until 1217.

Nidarosdomen The architectural style of the cathedral is romanesque and gothic. It was an important destination for pilgrims coming from all of Northern Europe. Work on the cathedral started in 1070 and was finished sometime around 1300.
