This chalet uses recycled parts, like an old ski lift for a chair, to bring a certain eccentricity to a modern design. While it will be difficult to replicate this on a yacht, it certainly is an inspirational design strategy to be followed. The colour scheme in this picture is also very powerful.

This is the house Chris Magwood built for his mother, Sandra Zabludofsky. It's near Madoc, Ontario, Canada. Chris built the straw bale house in 2004 using earthen plasters and all local materials. It's an off-grid home without a straight wall in the house. Enjoy the natural homes collection at www.naturalhomes.org/house.htm
