Thornless Roses

James Galway - Ideal for shade - repeat flowering, disease resistant, fragrant

Zephirine Drouhin -- shade tolerant, thornless climber. For the gazebo and fence. I Have these at my house, I love them.

Wollerton Old Hall - One of the most fragrant of all English Roses. It has the distinctive myrrh scent which is rarely found in roses. The plump buds have attractive flashes of red. These open to form round, rich buttery yellow coloured blooms which eventually pale to a softer creamy colour. Even when the flowers are fully open, they retain their beautifully rounded chalice shape.

'Darcey Bussell' rose with 'Tutti Frutti' salvia. Under planting with salvias can help to keep roses disease free.

Rose A Shropshire Lad. Lovely, soft, peachy pink rosettes, with a strong, delicious fruity tea rose fragrance. Exceptionally vigorous, healthy and reliable. Almost thornless.

Climbing Zephirine Thornless Rose Climbs to 8 ft, does well in shady alkaline soil. Idea - grow up an arbor around gate in backyard

Zéphirine Drouhin Medium Climber Special Characteristics Excellent repeat flowering. Thornless. (Bourbon) north wall and may be grown as a shrub or for hedges. 12 ft.

A Shropshire Lad - Climbing Rose by David Austin - pretty much a classic. Very fragrant, with a fruity tea rose scent. Disease resistant, repeat flowering and - I was surprised to learn - almost thornless.
