The world's first postage stamp was issued by Great Britain in 1840. Featuring a bust of Queen Victoria, it has come to be known as the "Penny Black." It also marked the introduction of "uniform penny postage" in a mail system: the rate to carry a letter to ANY destination within the country was now the same, and not based on distance carried.
The gilding flakes won this round - there wasn't really enough coverage on this gorgeous Penny Black tree. I added three Stickles and two Liquid Pearls as well as some gems to it, so you can hardly tell! I added a couple of white layers as I wanted to keep the design very clean but the card needed a little something extra and I think the white layers worked well.
