The Paris Wife... about Ernest Hemingway and his wife Hadley. A dreadful book which centres on the hedonistic lifestyle of the arty set in 1920's Paris. A shallow self centred bunch who couldn't get through a day without being fuelled by alcohol.
'The Paris Wife' Dives Into Hemingway's First Big Love
Not a fan of Hemingway's writing. But I enjoyed this book. It is a very interesting story about a marriage (Hadley Richardson was wife #1 out of four) and the Lost Generation of Americans who became expatriates in Paris during the 1920's. Doing a little research after I finished the book, I discovered that Hemingway's "A Moveable Feast" is an autobiography of the time he spent in Europe married to Hadley. I plan on reading that in the very near future.
