'Temple of the Dog' was formed in Seattle in 1990 and conceived by vocalist Chris Cornell of 'Soundgarden' as a tribute to his friend, the late Andrew Wood, lead singer of Malfunkshun and Mother Love Bone. The line-up included former 'Pearl Jam' members with Eddie Vedder & Chris Cornell providing lead and backing vocals. The band released its only album, the self-titled Temple of the Dog, in April 1991.

Temple of the Dog and Pearl Jam while they were still Mookie Blaylock (im pretty sure but hey who's counting?)

Temple Of The Dog - Hunger Strike (1991) This is truly the birth of "Grunge" After the Death of Andrew Wood his old room mate Chris Cornell and his former band members Stone Gossard & Jeff Ament (Mother Love Bone) joined to make a tribute to Wood. Temple of the dog was completed by Eddie vedder and drummer Matt Cameron (Soundgarden). This turned into a fantastic album and was the birth of Pearl Jam. Not an inspirational video but a pivotal point in music. Cheers Barry for that mix tape....
