Classroom layout has such a big impact on the students' experiences and learning in the classroom. Here are some the things I took into consideration when planning my classroom set up, along with the different arrangements and their pros and cons.
Bags at the dollar store for each student to store their independent reading books, reading response notebooks, writer's notebooks, word work notebooks, post-it notes and a pencil. I put a command hook on each desk for them to keep their bag. It has been so much easier than finding a place to store bulky book boxes and the kids love to carry them around the classroom.
Hiya, this pack includes a student certificate, tokens to give out for points (in cases where the IWB can't be accessed immediately you can give the token so they can trade them for a point later on), reward selector cards (such as use the teachers chair for a class or choose a reward from the prize box) and a little card to put on the students desk or as a necklace to say that they were the class champion the previous week. All are decorated with the Class Dojo Avatars.
Make your all-important study spot a neatly organised place that encourages focus this term. Introduce clever storage solutions, the right lighting and a personal touch to make a productive work area within your University Halls or Dorm Room.
