Jessica Rimondi I like how the paint validates the emotions and expressions within this portrait, by the limited palette it structures the shapes and forms. Then to have a deeper depth of what is trying to be convey and incorporated by the use of the paint with the techniques being able to enforce the concepts. I would like to experiment with my own developments to have a source of vivid expression, to allow the painting to speak for itself and not have any narrative connotation towards it…
Swedish company Träullit produce Dekor Tiles from an environmentally-friendly recyclable material, made from ‘wood-wool’, cement & water. This combination of natural components is simple & clever. Wood fibres make the tiles sound-absorbent & give the product a heat-insulating, heat-retaining quality. This contributes to lower energy costs, reducing environmental impact. Cement provides strength, moisture resistance & fire protection. http://www.traullit.se/product/produkter/traullit-dekor/
Shang XIA / Kengo Kuma - fabric (triaxially folded) covers the entire interior. It is a material which comes between cloth and plastic, which can retain the softness of natural cloth and strength of shape-memory texture.
Beautiful portrait! i love the contrast in colour from the material at the top and bottom of the image adding texture and a powerful meaning the pose of the eyes staring into the barrel of the lens heightens the emotion and effect of the image.
