Display pretty pebbles, or little rounded glass, in charming tealight holders. Place a small, shallow tealight holder at the bottom of a sturdy glass tumbler then arrange small pebbles & glass pieces around it. Place a tealight in a second holder & place on top of the first one (if you have lots of pebbles, you could put some pebbles in instead of the first holder, to raise up the second one).
