PlumSiena: What a Wall! Emily Swift-Jones She began with a normal, painted wall, smoothed it out with joint compound, primed with shellac and then went to town. The steps included Dutch metal gold leaf, patinating the gold leaf, glazing with oil colours and varnishing for the top coat. At the end, she embedded tiny glitter flakes into the tacky varnish.
DIY Fall Decor: Gold acorns. Clean and oven dry for several hours to ensure they are pest free. Acorns naturally fall out of the caps when ripe, so after they are oven dried and painted, use a hot glue gun to attach all the acorns to the caps. Finish them by adding a layer of clear shellac giving them a shiny look.
Base colour - Romantique As opposed to the pinkier Beau, Romantique has a more natural coloured finish although some find it a little chalky. I like it for the very natural finish but if clients want something more prominent, I would choose Beau or, Romantique combined with Beau - see the pin on this board to see what this looks like.
