Alexander Palace ~ Tsarskoye Selo (Russian: Ца́рское Село́; "Tsar's Village") the town containing a former Russian residence of the imperial family + visiting nobility, 15 mi south from Saint Petersburg. Currently, there are two imperial palaces: the baroque Catherine Palace with the adjacent Catherine Park and the neoclassical Alexander Palace with the adjacent Alexander Park.
The State Hermitage The Winter Palace is one of the most splendid buildings in St. Petersburg. Almost all the Romanovs starting from Catherine the Great resided there. The palace had hundreds of rooms; many of them were State Halls the interiors of which are preserved till the present days and open to visitors.
