Polly Klaas (January 3, 1981 – October 1, 1993) the age of twelve, she was kidnapped at knife point from her mother's home during a slumber party in Petaluma, California, She was later strangled. Richard Allen Davis was convicted of her murder in 1996 and sentenced to death - This hits home because I grew up in Petaluma and many of my friends knew Polly. ;-(
