Hyperlexia - Can co-exist or be misdiagnosed as Autism in young children. It is the ability to decode words, yet lack comprehension of the word or words read. There is also a difficulty and delay with speaking, with added impairments understanding spoken language. Those with Autism are said to frequently reverse letters, this is not necessarily Dyslexia in and of itslfe, but can also co-exist with Autism. Ha ha just did it...not changing it either!
