Living Africa: photography by Steve Bloom

Africa | A pilgrim reads from a well-worn prayer book near the church at Bet Giorgis. The most popular prayers among the Christian Orthodox of Ethiopia are the Psalms of David. Ethiopians are the oldest followers of Christianity on the continent of Africa. Many centuries of isolation from the rest of the Christian world have led the Ethiopian Church to develop its own distinctive interpretation of Christianity. Lalibela, Ethiopia | ©Steve Bloom

Davids Harp David was a master musician, a poet, a writer of psalms, a worshipper and a man after God’s own heart. This cute craft will serve as a great reminder of the life of David. A lowly shepherd boy chosen by God to be the king of Israel.
