Genius. I got a 4x8 sheet of half-inch plywood cut into thirds at Home Depot to end up with 3 pieces of 32x48" -- a good size to fill the empty wall in the dining room. With one-inch spacing, it gave me 32x48 pixels. I scaled down a world map to that size and posterized it to 5 colors (white + 4 shades of gray).

I love blackboard paint, but if you rent, painting the wall is often not an option (especially black!) Instead, have some plywood cut to size, paint with chalk board paint, and stand on the floor. No fixing required!
This would work for feeder too, sized to hold inverted 5 gal water jug. Base is lifted to keep them from getting dirt in it. Outside in coop run area. Feeder / waterer on top of sturdy plywood & galvanized awning so can be accessed without entering run
