This is a great idea. i never know what to do with all our cards and hate to just toss them out. Now, recycle last year's cards to make fun gift tags. Can be done with any card, Christmas or otherwise.
OK not exactly a how-to, but my plan worked out well for a display box for my greetings cards, so I thought I'd share it. Made by cutting an old cardboard box with a craft knife and gluing together with the glue gun. You also need to make the dividers, the same shape as the sides of the box. Don't tell Anna what she's getting for Christmas. See my cards and prints at www.black-prints.com
These adorable, windblown snowmen were created with my son's footprint last Christmas. He was 6 months old at the time. (I had to do it while he was sleeping!) Then I cut out the hats, scarves, and carrots from decorative origami paper. And then I drew on the arms and eyes. The inside of the card says "Hope you stay warm and "TOES"-TY this winter!" Get it? "Toes"-ty and the snowmen are made of footprints! :) Hope you like it! Don't forget the stamps! There are stamps specifically made to go…
