'Restaurant row' in Nyaung U (Bagan). Most people’s arrival point in the region is Nyaung U. Of the settlements in Bagan, Nyaung U has the most charm and the best range of things to do; the centre of the village is atmospheric, with some colonial architecture and a market which is a hive of activity.
Htilominlo Temple. Situated close to the road between Nyaung U and Bagan, and about 1.5 km northeast of Bagan. This large temple was built by King Nantaungmya in 1218. The temple is known to be the last Myanmar Style temple built in Bagan.
