Notre-Dame Cathedral. Aside from the rose windows, I've never seen the attraction here. What I AM a fan of is the view. Get in line an hour before the towers open - grab a pastry from the shops surrounding and chill. There is no way to skip the line here - so being at the front will guarantee you immediate access - otherwise you'll waste lots of time here - and the view is worth it!
Church, architect Le Corbusier, Notre Dame in Ronchamp France, lovely light in there, have a look at the slit on top of the wall, the roof seem so be floating in the air. Worth taking your time so calculate some 2-3 hours for the visit. (photo taken August, 9th 2009 by Blume-Werry, Juergen)
Notre Dame Cathedral - On the first Friday of every month at 3:00 in the afternoon at Notre Dame the Holy Crown of Thorns is displayed. There is a short service and then all who wish can approach the relic to view (or kiss, if you wish to). I attended last June; the service and procession took about two hours. It was unique and very moving.
Love this! In one of the most spectacular displays of school tradition, the trumpets of the Band of the Fighting Irish gather under the Golden Dome (the Main Building) one hour before kick-off on home game days and play "Notre Dame Our Mother," and "The Notre Dame Victory March" to a standing-room only crowd. Filmed in the Fall of 2009, over the course of four performances.
