The fashion world descends upon London's Soho district this week, as London Fashion Week makes Berwick Street its new home. But the area is famous for more than fashion, here are the places to drink, dine and stay while you're in the capital's entertainment district
Margate. That formerly uncool seaside resort in north-west Kent, has had quite the revamp. It is part of Thanet, which also includes the seaside towns of Ramsgate and Broadstairs, and was recently mentioned in Frommers must-see destinations for 2011. Margate is packed with quirky cafes and vintage shops, and it's also home to the new Turner Contemporary gallery.
Covent Garden is a district in London on the eastern fringes of the West End, between St. Martin's Lane and Drury Lane. It is associated with the former fruit-and-vegetable market in the central square, now a popular shopping and tourist site, and with the Royal Opera House, which is also known as "Covent Garden". The district is divided by the main thoroughfare of Long Acre, north of which is given over to independent shops centred on Neal's Yard. Photo: google.search.com
