St Fagans National History Museum of Wales, commonly referred to as St Fagans after the village where it is located, is an open-air museum in Cardiff chronicling the historical lifestyle, culture, and architecture of the Welsh people.
This beautiful little stone cottage [www.naturalhomes.org/leanach.htm] is Leanach Farmhouse in Culloden, Scotland. It has a rich history that included being used as a field hospital during the Battle of Culloden in 1746. Many centuries later the cottage now has a new red thatch made from heather. The cottage is loved and cared for by the National Trust using only natural materials.
