Preschool Crafts for Kids*: Name Rocket Space Craft. Did this in my classroom, except the children drew the background instead of using the black construction paper and stars. My students loved this one so much that some of them came back for more!!!
This global view of Jupiter's moon, Io, was obtained during the tenth orbit of Jupiter by NASA's Galileo spacecraft on 19 September 1997 at a range of more than 500,000 km (310,000 miles). Io (which is slightly larger than Earth's moon) is the most volcanically active body in the solar system. Colors are enhanced. Credit: NASA/JPL/University of Arizona
Phobos: Doomed Moon of Mars. This moon is doomed. Mars, the red planet named for the Roman god of war, has two tiny moons, Phobos and Deimos, whose names are derived from the Greek for Fear and Panic. These martian moons may well be captured asteroids originating in the main asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter or perhaps from even more distant reaches of the Solar System.
