Think of a sformato as a little like a cross between a dense soufflé and a crustless quiche. The term literally means ‘unmoulded’ in Italian, which doesn’t sound half as romantic when you translate it. It can be made with all sorts of vegetables and makes a really impressive vegetarian main course.
Ingredients 1 cup shredded Jack cheese 1 lb sliced mushrooms of choice 4 large eggs 1/2 cup half and half Approximately 1 cup whole milk *follow instructions in regards to measuring milk 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon pepper Cook mushrooms & onions in hot oil.Mix eggs, cream, & milk to make 2 C. Spread mushrooms & cheese then pour milk over. Bake @375 for 45 min.
