Amazing Idea! I'm so doing it especially since chairs are so expensive. I may make one for my sister for college and fill it with great survival tools!

Crate bench with storage bins for students' journals... Super simple to make and not very costly. Supplies: milk crates (got them for free from Kroger), zip ties, plywood board, foam, fabric and matching storage drawers (from Lowes)

This is a great site! This picture in particular has two great things: crates (that are on wheels!) and dry erase dots on the table. Great way to let kids show and do their work. Maybe even put them on students' desks? What a great idea!

DIY classroom library crate benches- A neat way to save space in the classroom through efficient use of supplies. It would be a good idea to combine these with bookshelves, but to have the crates serve as the "readers corner." You could label the crates according to students reading level and have the crates be the go-to for "leveled reading" book selection. The rest of the library could be organized by genre.
