Harriet Quimby born 1875, first American woman to be licensed as a flyer. She created a trademark purple flying costume — a satin jacket with a soft cowl around her head, high laced boots and satin riding pants.
B-24 flown from the UK to the Canadian Air Force Museum, Formerly HE-773 “M” of the Indian Air Force, built by the Ford Motor Company’s plant at Willow Run, Michigan. It was allocated to the RAF under the Lend-Lease programme, and assumed the RAF serial KN 820.
