The Ward’s kitchen was a traditional style with hints of copper accents. We incorporated the shiplap with white beveled tile, white marble and gray cabinets. It had plenty of storage and space for the Wards and their family when they entertain.
"The area under the stairs is often wasted space," says Joanna. "We transformed this spot— once a closet with book storage on one side—into a library nook, which feels perfect for a B&B. I always say 'Look beyond what's already there and make your home work for you.' "
I designed this wall planter that my welder Cody built and installed these terracotta pots that Black Oak Art custom made. This was definitely one of my favorite elements in this entire home and really personalized the space for the Messeralls.
