'Magnolia' (1999) by Paul Thomas Anderson. An incredibly complex and compelling 3 hour drama which doesn't hide the fact that is a tragedy on every level. Characters interlock, interweave and most critically, they suffer. As a true highlight of struggling white male masculinity and failed children, this film will forever live in my memory as a narrative triumph and an engaging and tragic look into exceptionally well formed characters.
Magnolia (1999) An epic mosaic of several interrelated characters in search of happiness, forgiveness, and meaning in the San Fernando Valley." Not for everyone but I enjoyed it but I preferred Short Cuts and its interrelated characters.
