St. Joseph (St. Joe) Plantation was built in 1830. It is located along the Great River Road (Highway 18) in Vacherie, Louisiana. The 12,000-square-foot raised Creole-style home (standing on brick columns to protect from flooding) The plantation was first owned by Josephine Aime Ferry in 1830, but the Ferry family sold it to Joseph Waguespack It is today maintained by descendants of the Waguespack and Simon families
