Michael Phelps The most decorated Olympian in the entire history of the Games let alone his sport of Swimming. Phelps holds 28 Medals in total, with 23 of them Gold. He retired after the 2012 London Olympics but made a surprising comeback in 2014 after his rival, Chad Le Clos, tarnished Phelps’ reputation. Don’t worry, we’ll talk about the swimmers’ feud later. Phelps retired, yet again, after the 2016 Olympic Games at the age of 31.
